There is a misconception
that solar energy only works when the sun is shining and hence solar
power is unsuitable for the UK climate. The Manchester Renewable
Energy third-generation solar water heating system works on a light
absorption principle and its operation is not dependant on lengthy
periods of sunshine or high temperatures. Solar diffused radiation
is collected in the selective coated vacuum tubes and the heat generated
is transferred to your solar cylinder. This even works on cloudy
days and at temperatures as low as -28°c.
